When you enter The Commenda of the Knights of Malta you will see this suite on the left side, after passing through the main living room hall. This suite, the most spacious set of rooms of the Commenda, is a 90 square meter area that includes a living room and a very spacious bedroom with its own bathroom. The bedroom has a very comfortable canopy bed and the bathroom has a bathtub, a shower cabin and 2 basins.

The light colors of this suite and the combination of antique and simple modern comfort give it a very unique and tranquil ambience which can be easily turned into a very romantic setting as the candles light up for the evening to come.

This suite is named “The Alchemist’s suite” in memory of  Raimondo De Sangro, VII Prince of Sansevero of the d’Aquino di Caramanico family. This famous Neapolitan historical figure has been defined as one of the most eclectic princes in history, because besides being a patron of the arts he was also a very famous alchemist whose experiments in the 17^th century Naples became legendary. Some descriptions of his works can be found in the Sansevero Chapel in Naples. If you are intrigued by this absolutely fascinating personage you can read about him and about the d’Aquino family history in the many books at your disposal in the Commenda’s library.

This suite is named in memory of St. Thomas Aquinas, one of the very esteemed ancestors of the d’Aquino di Caramanico family. St. Thomas Aquinas, also known as the "Doctor Angelicus" the Doctor of the Church, is considered one of the Catholic Church's greatest theologians and philosophers. He is regarded to this day as a model teacher for those studying for the priesthood. You will be able to find many rare and unique family family books about him in the large library inside the living room area.

This warm and cozy 80 square meter suite can  accommodate up to 3 people plus a toddler in a crib if desired. The suite comprises one bedroom, one living room with sofa bed, and one large bathroom with facilities for your relaxation.

The living room is a separate compartment attached to the bedroom and can be used for many purposes as it offers a welcoming over-sized sofa bed in a very cozy salotto environment with a big flat TV screen and board games ready to use (such as backgammon, Jenga, chess and checkers or traditional playing cards).

This living room can be used both as a working place area, with the office desk and Wi-Fi Internet connection, or as your children’s playground area. It can also be used by a third or fourth person to sleep, if you have your children with you.The bedroom offers a king sized canopy bed, with an adjacent large bathroom with bathtub, bidet, toilet, as well as twin basins for him and her.

This suite is named “the Governor’s Suite” in memory of Pope Innocenzo XII, born Antonio Pignatelli di Spinazzola  (and related to Filippo and Francesca d’Aquino di Caramanico through their mother's Pignatelli di Montecalvo side). Pope Innocenzo XII was the first pope to fight nepotism prohibiting future popes from bestowing estates, offices or revenues to any of their relatives. This reform had a profound effect on the  region, because previously most of the noble estates had been greatly enhanced or created by papal grants to their families or allies. Innocence XII in 1648, before becoming Pope, was the Governor of Viterbo therefore also very well acquainted with this area and residence.
